In my What is Traditional Scrapbooking post, I cleared up that term. Now, the next question that I get asked is about Digital Scrapbooking. This has become my favorite way to scrapbook – don’t get me wrong, I still get sucked into all the fun tools and textures of traditional scrapbooking, but all I need is my laptop and I can scrapbook any time, any place. In the following video, I clear up the mystery: What is Digital Scrapbooking? (Imagine this spoken in echo-y voice and blinking on and off…very dramatic…)
In both traditional and paper scrapbooking, you can use very simple to very decorative techniques, it is up to you. You can still include memorabilia or keepsakes by either photographing or scanning them. In the video I mentioned graphic design software. The most commonly used is Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. If this is something you are familiar with, then, by all means, use that. I just prefer the ease of using software specifically designed for scrapbooking.
Do you see the appeal of digital scrapbooking?
Coming soon: What is Hybrid Scrapbooking?

LOVE digital scrapbooking. I’ve heard wonderful things about the CM product. I use the Stampin’ Up! product and really enjoy it. I wasn’t good about doing traditional scrapbooking. Although I enjoyed it, I was a perfectionist and it was easy for me to spent 2+ hours on one page. I have a new baby and I’m not able to do that now and I NEED to scrapbook. Digital is the perfect solution. Thanks for sharing your video about this.
Awesome Amy! Glad you’ve found something that works for you.
